INNOTEG signed a technology transfer agreement with PAS of Germany

On August 31, 2023, INNOTEG Scientific Instrument Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Tegent, held a technology transfer ceremony with PAS Technology in Thuringia, Germany.

Stephen, Chairman of Tegent, Hawk, CEO of Tegent /INNOTEG Scientific Instruments Co., Ltd. and Dietmar Hein and George Hein from PAS Technology of Germany attended the ceremony.

Since then, INNOTEG has acquired the ownership of Needle Trap Dynamic Needle Trap Technology and sampling devices made by this technology from PAS, which including but not limited to rights and interests of the mentioned proprietary technology.

INNOTEG is committed to developing innovative and efficient laboratory equipment, providing customers with high-quality one-stop solutions. In the field of sample pretreatment, INNOTEG has successively launched a number of competitive Thin Film SPME and SPME Fiber products. The signing of this project further enriches INNOTEG’s product line, providing more efficient solid phase micro-extraction products for researchers around the world.

For scientific researchers, sample pretreatment is very important. When completing an experiment, about 60% or more time is spent on pretreatment, and more than 30% of the errors brought to the experiment are caused by sample pretreatment. Combined with this technology, INNOTEG can provide analysis and testing personnel with more efficient sample pretreatment solutions, saving a lot of sample pretreatment time and reducing experimental errors.

Needle Trap, AP-20 Manual Sampler and Sampling Case were developed by PAS Technology in collaboration with Janusz Pawliszyn, a professor in the field of micro-extraction and solid phase micro-extraction, and his team.

INNOTEG has maintained a strong cooperative relationship with Janusz Pawliszyn, and has obtained the exclusive worldwide licensing of his developed Thin Film SPME technology. This technology transfer also makes the cooperation between the two sides closer.

Product Introduction:

→ Needle Trap Device (NTD)
The new dynamic needle trap device, which fills the adsorbent in the tip of the needle and can be loaded with up to three different commercial solid packings, is a new solvent-free microextraction technology that integrates sampling, extraction, concentration and injection, suitable for the analysis of trace volatile and semi-volatile organic compounds.

It can be combined different sorbents for wide range of VOC compounds extraction, eg.Tenax TA,Carboxen1016, Carboxen1000 or customized. It is by size a micro-extraction technology, but technically is an exhaustive device. It retains the advantages of SPME for extraction and injection. Due to the miniaturization and the modified extraction and desorption kinetics, the NT method is superior to the conventional thermal desorption for many applications.

NT-Design:
• Luer-Lock connection
• Lengths: between 50 mm and 70 mm (pending on temperature profile of injector!)
• Dimensions: 700 µm/400 µm (PAS), Shinwa: gauge 22 (0,72  mm/0,4 mm) or Gauge 23 (0,64  mm/0,35 mm)
• Tip form: side hole PAS, cone tip Shinwa (side hole, blunt, … on request)

NT-Packings:
• Porous organic polymere (Tenax, DVB, PDMS, …)
• Graphitized carbons (Carbopack, …)
• Carbon molecularesieve (Carbosieve, Carboxen, …)
• Special polymer sorbent for extraction specifically of alcohols, organic solvents, fatty acids and amines.

Advantage:
1. NT can handle most VOC-application and easy to use.
2. NT can achieve low detection limits (vppt – vppb).
3. NT gives additional information to SPME, since bounded compounds are analyzed too. The free molecules and particles can be extracted simultaneously.
4. A miniaturized thermal desorption design allows low sample volumes and does not need any cryo-focussing.
5. There’s significantly less loss of compounds during transport and storage of NTD.
6. Combination with Sampling Case, optimized the extraction efficiency and reproducibility of extraction for sampling very punctual.

→ Sampling Case
Sampling Cases are devices to sample gas organic compounds on solid sorbents. Enrichment can be carried out, using for Needle Traps or thermal desorption tubes. You just need to set the
The quality of a VOC analysis is determined by the sampling. Sampling Case is available for using the powerful needle trap method or thermal desorption tubes, which you can take the VOC samples reliably even you are on the move.

Advantage:
1. Portable design for sampling analysis directly on site.
2. The SC-B case is optimized for taking breath sample. It’s equipped with a CO2 sensor, which can detect the alveolar breath-gas.
3. Time saving since onsite analysis is possible.
4. Low-maintenance, robust equipment.
5. Easy to handle and low operating costs.
6. Optional model: SC-XS,SC-S,SC-L,SC-XL,SC-B
7. Multiple sampling scenarios, including ambient air sampling, static HS-NT sampling, Passive HS-NT sampling, Dynamic HS-NT sampling, Breath sampling.

Sampling Mode:
Strong features for your field use
• Adjustable sample volume: 10 mL – 10 L
• Electronic mass flow meter (MFC), sample flow: 1– 50 ml/min(SC-S,SC-L,SC-XL); 1– 250 ml/min(SC-XS); 1– 250 ml/min(SC-B);
• Li-ion battery:2*24 V DC 3.2 Ah, 100-230V AC charging station
